After my presentation
you made it through two full days of very interesting presentations.
And I do my very best to keep your attention level quite high during the next 20 minutes.
I think it's a challenge when being the last one.
So
I will present how or why to use an airship as a research platform.
And my name is Hannah Reintle.
I am a research associate at the Technical University of Munich
the Institute of Flight System Dynamics.
And before diving into the project
a very short overview of what we as an Institute of Flight System Dynamics are doing.
So, we are focusing on a model-based controller development.
So
meaning we are having quite some experience with simulation
modeling
parameter identification.
And we're using this for guidance
control development
trajectory optimization.
Additionally
we're also dealing with sensors
navigation
data fusion
flight safety
and avionics and safety critical systems.
And the project
which I will dive deeper into in the next slide
kind of combines all these different core areas.
And so, there were a lot of different people at the Institute working on this project, at least partially.
And we collected all the experience of all the people there.
So, what I'm going to talk about first, I want to introduce the project AMI-PGS,
which is the project in which we developed an airship as a research platform.
I want to dive deeper into the AMI-PGS features
so the airship features
its characteristics
its subsystems.
Then I want to answer the question why we decided to use an airship as a research platform.
And this brings us to the topic of the project.
And finally
just outlook what is our current state
what did we plan for the next weeks and months.

AMI-PGS stands for Air Mobility
Initiative Positioning and Guidance Systems.
It's a HAMI project, and it's funded by a Bavarian state ministry.
